Masteri Group Limited (Masteri Group, we, us or our) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit masterigroup.com, take one of our online assessments at assessio.masterigroup.com, or otherwise interact with us, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Masteri Group Limited is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10439416), with its registered office at Bramhall House, 14 Ack Lane East, Bramhall, Stockport, England, SK7 2BY. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at admin@masterigroup.com.

The data we collect

Information you give us. This includes your name, email address and any details you provide when you subscribe to our newsletter, book a call, take one of our online assessments, buy a product or service, or contact us. When you book a discovery call, this is handled through our booking provider, Book Like a Boss, and may include your name, email address and scheduling details. What we collect through our online assessments is set out in its own section below.

Information we collect automatically. When you use the site we may collect your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring pages, and information about how you use the site, through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies and analytics below).

How we use your data and our lawful bases

We use your personal data for the following purposes, relying on the lawful bases set out below:

• To respond to your enquiries and provide the information you request (legitimate interests, or steps taken at your request before entering a contract).
• To deliver the products or services you have requested, including your assessment results and reports, and manage our relationship with you (performance of a contract).
• To send you our newsletter and other marketing where you have asked to receive it (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
• To operate, maintain, analyse and improve the website, our assessments and our content (legitimate interests).
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations (legal obligation).

Our online assessments

We run online assessments at assessio.masterigroup.com, including the Organisational Foundations and Delivery Assessment, the Masteri Performance Assessment and the Independent Consultant Readiness Self-Assessment. This section explains what happens to the information you give us when you take one.

What we collect. Your name and email address, your role and your organisation’s name where the assessment asks for them, and your answers to the assessment questions, including anything you write in your own words. We also record which stages of the assessment are reached, such as starting, finishing and viewing results, so that we can see where people stop and improve the assessment.

How we use it. To calculate your results, show them to you, and produce your Free Report and, if you buy one, your Deep Report. Our team may review responses to understand the needs of the people and organisations we work with, and we use combined results to check and improve our assessments.

Our lawful basis. Providing your results and reports is necessary to deliver the service you have asked for (performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering one). Reviewing responses and improving our assessments relies on our legitimate interests in running and developing our services. Your optional answers about yourself rely on your consent, as explained below.

Buying a Deep Report. If you buy a Deep Report, your payment is taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We use the email address you give at checkout to send your receipt and your report’s download link, and for nothing else unless you separately opt in to hear from us.

Optional “About you” questions. Some of our self-assessments, currently the Masteri Performance Assessment and the Independent Consultant Readiness Self-Assessment, include a short set of optional questions about you: your age range, sex, ethnicity, country of residence, education level, employment status, occupation, industry and income band.

• Why we ask. We use these answers only in anonymised totals, to understand who takes our assessments and to check that each assessment works fairly for different groups of people. They are never used to calculate your scores, never appear in your Free Report or Deep Report, and are never used for marketing.
• They are optional. You can skip any of these questions, or choose “Prefer not to say”. Skipping them makes no difference to your results or your report.
• Ethnicity. Information about your ethnicity is a special category of personal data under UK data protection law. We only process it with your explicit consent, which you give by choosing to answer that question after being told what it is used for. If you do not answer it, we hold nothing about your ethnicity.
• Our lawful basis. For all of these answers, our lawful basis is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). For your ethnicity, it is also your explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(a)).
• How they are stored. Your answers to these questions are stored securely with the rest of your assessment answers and are accessible only to the Masteri Group team. When we report on them, we only ever use totals that do not identify anyone.
• Withdrawing your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing admin@masterigroup.com. We will then delete your answers to these questions. This does not affect your scores, your report, or any use of the answers before you withdrew.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, to understand how it is used, and to improve it. This includes Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) and, where enabled, the Meta (Facebook) pixel, which help us measure and improve our content and reach. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings and, where shown, through the cookie banner on our site.

Marketing and our newsletter

If you subscribe, we will send you emails with insights and updates. We manage this through our email marketing provider, Encharge. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Taking an assessment or buying a report does not add you to our newsletter. We will never sell your details to third parties for their own marketing.

Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as far as they need to in order to provide their services to us. These include:

• our website hosting provider;
• Netlify, which hosts our assessment platform;
• Supabase, which provides the database and secure file storage behind our assessments and reports;
• Google, whose Google Workspace tools, including Google Sheets, our team uses to manage assessment responses;
• Stripe, which processes payments for Deep Reports;
• Resend, which sends our receipt and report emails;
• our email marketing platform, analytics providers, and our booking software (Book Like a Boss).

We may also disclose your data where we are required to do so by law, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we put in place appropriate safeguards, such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or rely on a UK adequacy decision for the country concerned.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, or for as long as required by law. In particular:

• Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
• Assessment responses, including any optional answers about you, are kept for up to six years after you complete the assessment, after which we delete them or make them anonymous. You can ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
• If you buy a Deep Report, your purchase record is kept for six years to meet our tax and accounting obligations. Your report remains available through your download link for as long as we operate this service, unless you ask us to delete it.
• Enquiry and client records are kept for as long as needed to manage our relationship with you and to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• ask us to erase your data in certain circumstances;
• restrict or object to our processing of your data;
• request a copy of your data in a portable format; and
• withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at admin@masterigroup.com. We will respond within the time limits set by law.

Complaints

If you have concerns about how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and keep our measures under review.

Children

Our website, assessments and services are intended for adults and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Links to other sites

Our site contains links to third-party websites and platforms, such as YouTube and our social media channels. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their own privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always appear on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
